On April 2, 2004 I was conferred Doctor of Divinity by the Church of England's Universal Ministries School of Theology for meritorious recognition in Christian Ministry Outreach Service.

LIFE ALERT!
Global Village International Outreach Ministries, is a mission-minded outreach, non-profit organization committed to assisting various humanitarian efforts philanthropically throughout the world.
A major fundraising project that we are currently involved with is Life Outreach International as seen on TV. Their Mission: Water for LIFE has now become MISSION CRITICAL! Water is desperately needed, and clean water means life!
Global Village International is partnering with Life Outreach International in an all out effort to provide fresh drinking water. Two hundred villages have been targeted to receive a new water well each in an area of urgent need.
First, provide water purification equipment, food and other relief to areas hit hard by the tsunami. We've sent one shipment, but we must do more. We know we can't meet all the needs, but we can do our part in this global effort. The fact that former opponents President Bush and President Clinton are now joining hands to reach out to those who are suffering should serve as an inspiration to us all.
Our work is in word and deed, so you must know that with our aid, we will be sharing the good news of Christ the Cross and His love with those who are suffering.
Second, join us to drill 200 new water wells this year in Africa where contaminated water is taking lives each day. Please understand unrelated to the tsunami, more than 320,000 people will die from a water related sickness this month alone.
We at Global Village International ask you to extend your compassion and participate in this worthwhile global effort.
The tsunami has claimed the lives of more than 150,000 people. But please remember – contaminated, disease – ridden water claims the lives of more than 320,000 people each month. Water is life, and I ask you to join me in this dual effort to demonstrate God's love to people in need.

I come from Africa. South Africa to be exact. I know all to well about the crime, violence, corruption, fear and pain all Africans have to deal with.
I believe that these people need opportunities. Once your unemployment rates go down, so does the crimerates. It needs to start with the children, as they are tomorrow's hope or criminals. They need to have the proper survival skills where crime and violence is not an option. South Africa has the highest crime rate and HIV rates. I believe these two go hand in hand, for people are uneducated. The ones getting educated are the ones who already have the virus. All is well to teach them how to have a better life with HIV, but what if someone educated them beforehand? Do you know how many babies get raped every year because of false information circulating the uneducated African systems. Some still believe that if you rape a baby or white woman you will be cured! Condoms are handed out as part of an AIDS campaign at local stores (done by the goverment), this is very kind, the sad thing is... The condoms are stapled to a "aids awareness" pamflet! This all comes back to a lack of education on the part of the people as well as the goverments. They will rather teach you what to do when you get carjacked, instead of teaching people skills inorder for them to provide for themselves and their communities. You will rather be educated with a self defence course than change the mentality of the people of the country.
Action needs to be taken, for most of these children will not live in ten years time. Every 30 seconds a woman is being raped in S Africa, and these are only the reported cases. More people die from aids and crime related deaths than any other conditions, and also these are just reported figures. What happens to all the people that die "unreportedly". Who's lifes were never celebrated? The rest of the world should not be left naive on this matter. People should know how many people get murdered, raped, car-jacked and mugged every DAY, so that they can see and share in such a serious matter. People will give and contribute only when they realy know the core of the problem. South Africa has such a strong economy and they have the recourses to change the future for all Africans but it's not put to good use.
We need to see the main problem in order to change the situations that follow.
